Are you ready for Barcelona Developers Conference 2012?
So, it’s back … yep, time for Barcelona Developers Conference 2012, to be held this year from Thurs-Saturday, 6-8 December in Barcelona’s Maritime Museum, which the organizers say has space for 1,500 people:
Museu Marítim, Av. de les Drassanes, s/n, 1, 08001 Barcelona
If you’re a developer and living anywhere in proximity to Barcelona, this could be the event of the year for you. For the rest of us, it’s still pretty exciting. I’m not a coder, but I think these kinds of events really and truly bring out the creativity in the world of technology — personally, I think it’s the tech equivalent of hanging out with the young artists if you like contemporary art, or with writers if you like literature. Some of them you will never ever hear from again, but some of them are going to do amazing things one day, maybe even doing amazing things right now. And events like this let you see it while it’s happening …
The theme of this year’s conference is “At world’s end” and the focus of the sessions will be on cloud computing, mobile, indie game development and robotics; there will also be a global track on entrepreneurship. As per last year, look for the showcasing of new tools and ideas, and plenty of networking opportunities for developers, students, businesses and investors.

Wondering about WiFi? Last year had free WiFi for all three days of the show, courtesy of Fon.
It takes a lot of effort and money to put on an event like this, especially if you aren’t professionals. So, it’s worth mentioning that this conference is brought to you by the very hard work of the Barcelona Developers Conference organizing team, with the sponsorship of: BSkyB, Spotify, Paypal, BlackBerry, Microsoft, ecManaged, Softonic, Fon, Veri, Ducksboard, Adiciona, Sendgrid, Podio, Moritz, No2’s Strawberry SDK, and getDigital; with Event Partner, WebVisions; and Media Partners, 85% Cocoa Podcast, Engenyeria Informatica, FIB Alumni, Star-T Magazine, Manzana Magica, mossegalapoma, Software Developer’s Journal and La Salle’s Ramon Lull University; and special support from the Generalitat’s idigital, Grupo Cinc and the Museu Maritím, where it’s all taking place.
